Motion parameters classify the motion behavior of an object. First, the path of a moving object is tracked and recorded by software over a certain period of time. Afterwards characteristic parameters are calculated from the measurement results of the digitized track (track length, euclidean distance between start and end point, curvature radii, etc.). Based on the resulting motion pattern of each individual conclusions on its behaviour or condition can be made in individual cases or statistically on the totality of the recorded tracks.
A great variety of moving objects tracked may be analyzed with our medeaLAB Tracking imaging software – from single-cell organisms to particles in currents to movements of fish fins.
